AMAZING  LOVE

His eyes of  deep compassion fell upon us.

While yet the heap

of our sins was the clothes we wore. Would our hearts leap at the sound of His cries, or would there not be a peep at the reapers hand?  The worst of us were his greatest care.  He shared our pain as He took the blows and the blood flows, deep red and fresh, soon to dry when he would die;  not wanting to spare himself when the wounds of our heart he felt with each thorns' deep thrust;  The helpless, the hopeless and disappointed among us. The brutalized and abandoned, the poor and the lame, and the shamed; The adulterer, the swindler, the perverted, the condemned; The liars and cheats and drug pushers and the lazy and promiscuous and the good man who forgot the man beside the road; The sick and the dying, the lonely and the famous; All of Us Together....The nails broke bone and tore and ripped as his body pulled to rid itself of that which held it to life itself.  Thoughts of  us in place of Future; Beyond, yet so close at hand we still were; Our fate was clinched for good and life anew, even happy, as his last breath bore out his amazing love for those  he knew each by name. John and Mary and you and me. Will we trust such a one as this with our hearts?  I believe, my heart is given.
