What Are Your Answers?

I hope you are being challenged just like I am by answering the questions Jesus asked during the season of Lent leading up to our celebration of Easter here at Slash. We will not have enough time to talk about all 307 questions he asked in the New Testament. But, we are asking and answering these important questions for our own faith journey.

Do you believe that I am able to do this?
What is your name?
Why do you worry?
What is it you want me to do for you?
Does it come from heaven, or is it of human origin?
Do you know what I've done for you?
Who are you looking for?

There is much we can learn about ourselves from Jesus. He forced people to think and learn for themselves with the power of his questions. We too are growing as we come before Jesus each week and answer his questions.

Jesus causes us to consider how our spirit is doing, how our faith journey is changing, and how our relationship with him is bringing us closer to God. If Lent is a time for somber introspection, Jesus' questions force us to take a spiritual inventory of where we are in our spiritual growth. Join us all through the 40 days of Lent, Palm Sunday, and Easter as we answer for ourselves the Questions Jesus Asked.

It is Our Responsibility to Keep Slash Growing

When was the last time you brought a visitor to church? It is time for you to invite that person who has been asking you questions about your church. First you need to get them to join you for worship and then you can invite them to learn more about our congregation and its ministries at our next Learn About Slash class. Members of our church join our visitors in these classes. This is a great way to get visitors and friends more involved at Slash.  Get off the fence and invite someone to church this week!

Relay for Life Walk - Saturday June 18th
relay for life
The Outreach Committee is putting together a team once again for Slash Christian Church to help battle cancer.  Probably every one of you is related to someone or knows someone who has been affected by cancer.  Research is making progress and hopefully in the years to come, there will be a cure (or prevention) for many forms of cancer.   This year's Western Hanover Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, June 18th at Kings Dominion Camp Wilderness Campground in Doswell. Click here for the link to Slash Christian Church team

We hope that you will join our team - donate to a team member - or purchase a luminaria to honor or remember a loved one who has been touched by cancer.  With our help, there is hope!  With our help, cancer victims live longer lives!  With our help, victims and their families know they are not alone!   We hope that you will join us in our effort to push back the devastating effects that cancer makes on the lives of our friends and our loved ones!  Sign up or support our team!  We can and will make a difference!
