Troy Interfaith Labyrinth

A labyrinth is not a maze to get lost in, but a single route into and out of the heart of a circle. Although there is only one route, there are, says Rev. Charlotte Sommers, many ways to walk the labyrinth.

"Release, receive, reunion with the world, is a way to walk the labyrinth," says Rev.Sommers. "The idea with the labyrinth is that you walk in and leave behind what you need to behind and you reach the center and receive what you need to receive. It's like when you're in the shower or driving and you come up with brilliant ideas because your body is doing what you need to do so you're open to receive ideas and dreams."

Memorial Prayer Service for
Orlando and Charleston

As a nation, and as a community, we struggle with the senseless acts of violence that destroy lives and leave gaping holes in families and communities. In these times, so many of us turn to the power of our faith, regardless of how we express it, to lament, to reach out to each other with love, to affirm the power of our love to make a difference, to give us strength to carry on the crusade for a more just and loving society, and to send a beam of light into the darkness of anger and hatred.

This past Monday, faith leaders and the faithful from across our community's faith traditions gathered in Dearborn at the Islamic Center of America to give voice both to heartbreak and to hope through our prayers.

Exploring Our Religious Landscapes
Registration Open for Fall!

Every day we read the newspapers and see the unrelenting pain and suffering caused by failures of understanding, failures of openness, failures of communication. For those of us who involved in interfaith work, we know that a little bit of religious understanding can go a very long way. And we're excited about the many opportunities we can create in our community to create it.

JustServe
connects organizations and volunteers

In the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 2.17), it says "I tell you these things that you may learn wisdom; that you may learn that when you are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God." To help each of us fulfill the sacred task of service, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has created a digital clearing house for volunteer opportunities called JustServe.
