Exploring Our Religious Landscapes
Registration Open for Fall!
|
Every day we read the newspapers and see the unrelenting pain and suffering caused by failures of understanding, failures of openness, failures of communication. For those of us who involved in interfaith work, we know that a little bit of religious understanding can go a very long way. And we're excited about the many opportunities we can create in our community to create it.

Annual IFLC Interfaith
Luncheon Provides Opportunity to Celebrate and Share Ideas
|
Interfaith work is most often done in our congregations and communities. Those are the arenas in which we work to build bridges, create understanding, and learn to work together on our common communal needs. Last week's IFLC luncheon at St. John's Armenian church was a chance to gather with our partners in interfaith work, celebrate what we do, and discuss our visions for what needs doing.

IFLC sponsoring Interfaith
Conflict Transformation Training
|
Between the many ethnic, racial, and religious groups in our diverse community, there are many opportunities for conflict. There are, however, an equal number of opportunities to transform conflict into interactions that are positive and constructive.
On Wednesday, June 29th, the IFLC is sponsoring a day-long conflict transformation workshop to give community leaders a taste of the process that Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Buttry has been using around the world to help people of diverse faiths become more effective peacemakers.

JustServe
connects organizations and volunteers
|
In the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 2.17), it says "I tell you these things that you may learn wisdom; that you may learn that when you are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God." To help each of us fulfill the sacred task of service, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has created a digital clearing house for volunteer opportunities called JustServe.

|
Q: Who were the tirthankaras?
The IFLC would like to help foster our understanding of one another by using our newsletter as a forum for you to ask these questions. We want to share your questions anonymously within the framework of our newsletter where religious leaders from these diverse faith communities will provide answers to them. We welcome the opportunity to learn together!
