Driven in Detroit: Bridges to Self-Reliance

People who are raised in poverty tend to think of life in terms of fate. Raechel and Lamar Parker grew up surrounded by drugs and violence, without the know how to create a different kind of life for themselves and their five children. "The way I grew up was 'no one cares about you,'" says Raechel. But they had the desire to do better, and Kathy and Sam Utley were able to help them with the information and skills they hadn't gotten through their troubled upbringings.

120 people enjoyed matzah ball soup and an introduction to Judaism at Temple Israel at our first Exploring Our Religious Landscapes program. A great turnout and a wonderful evening!

Oklahoma! Theater Fundraiser

This year's DION theater fundraiser will be at the Bonstelle Theater on Saturday, April 16 AT 8PM. The funds raised will help to support our DION programs in the schools, with families, and our annual Interfaith Summer Picnic.
Tickets are $25 @ and can be purchased via money order or check made out to: "Detroit Interfaith Outreach Network". Be sure to include your name, address, and phone so we can mail you a voucher. Bring the voucher to the theater on the night of the performance and we will exchange it for an actual ticket. Deadline for all tickets is April 1 - please mail them to our DION office at 17520 W. 12 Mile Rd., Suite 205, Southfield, MI 48076.
