Exploring Our Religious Landscapes  at Christ Church Cranbroook
 | |

Christ Church Cranbrook will welcome participants in the Exploring Our Religious Landscapes to an interactive and participatory exploration of Christianity on Wednesday, May 18, 6-9 pm. At its best, Christianity is a religion practiced rather than just a set of beliefs held. Accordingly, the evening has been designed to lift up the kinetics of Christian practice in prayer, worship, study, art, and music... |

Interfaith World Sabbath Highlights | |

From the beginning blowing of the shofar, call to prayer and blowing of the conch shell, to the Children of Peace, and the concluding bagpipes, Rev. Dr. Bob Agnew, of the Fort Street Presbyterian Church, Gail Katz, World Sabbath Chairperson, and the World Sabbath Committee presented a celebration rich in music and spirit.   Over 400 celebrants prayed for peace in each other's traditions and enjoyed highlights such as the Hindu Temple Rhythms Dancers, Kidz Klez, Worship Through Music in the Baha'i Tradition, the Second Grace United Methodist Church Drummers, and remarks from World Sabbath Peace Awardee, Faith Fowler. Volunteer Teri Weingarden wrote "As the shofar sounded the crowd in the Fort Street Presbyterian church sighed and let their breaths out and G_d in.  World Sabbath day was a colorful, spectacular celebration of interfaith acceptance. Performers sang, danced, prayed and shared a moment together accepting those of different faiths. As a volunteer, I organized children, gathered waivers, searched for a young conch shell musician and met a diverse and inspiring group of people." Join us for World Sabbath next year at Renaissance Unity, Warren, on Sunday, March 5, 2017. |
