Getting Together

At the Interfaith Picnic

It was a sunny, beautiful day on Belle Isle. The park was full of picnickers, cyclists, people and gatherings of all kinds. One of the gatherings was the annual interfaith picnic sponsored by the Detroit Interfaith Outreach Network, Common Word Alliance, AFF, Institute for Engaged Hospitality, Bridging 8 Mile, Islamic Organization of North America (IONA), InterFaith Leadership Council, Metro Family Church, and the UMC Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships.

Community members and faith leaders from around the area danced, drummed, discussed, broke bread, shared the beautiful day and showed Detroit what it looks like when we all get together.
