Jewish, Muslim and Christian Doctors Hold Interfaith Health Fair

at Detroit Mosque

Sunday, May 31

On Christmas, when those who celebrate the holiday want to be with family, the hungry are still hungry, the disabled still need help, shelter dogs still need to be fed, and the elderly still need companionship. It's been an annual tradition for Jewish Detroiters to gather for Mitzvah (good deed) Day each Christmas to relieve Christian staff and volunteers at hospitals, food pantries, homeless shelters and assisted-living centers.

Six years ago, Jewish, Muslim and Interfaith leaders came together looking for something on which they could work together. Out of that meeting came the idea of involving the Muslim community in Mitzvah Day.

IFLC Annual Awards Dinner

October 14, 2015

Each year, we gather to honor some of our community's exceptional activists, raise funds for our community outreach, religious literacy and conciliation efforts, and enjoy an evening with our interfaith friends.

This year, the IFLC annual dinner will be October 14th at Shriners Silver Garden in Southfield.  A pre-dinner interfaith reception begins at 5:30 pm with the dinner program beginning promptly at 6:30 pm. We hope to see you there. We are pleased to share this year's honorees with you, and we look forward to honoring them and hearing from them at the dinner. We hope you'll join us.
