Spotlight On: Dreamer Alumni

Meet Dreamer Stephanie Sosa, who just completed her Master's Degree at NYU.

"Being a Dreamer raised my self-esteem and taught me that I can be whatever I want to be as long as I work for it.  I also gained a lot of academic and social skills that have allowed me to excel as a student and professional."

Meet Dreamer, IHDF-NY Junior Board member, and small business owner Anthony Ron (aka DJ Dubbz).

"Coming from the inner city in Manhattan, there were many distractions and obstacles that we faced in our environment. IHDF-NY showed us that there were positive people out in the world that actually were betting on us to win. That was an amazing idea for me, to meet people that cared for me unconditionally."

Dreams of Professional Opportunities: Dreamer Career Days

May through June brought many new and exciting career experiences to "I Have A Dream" - NY!  Dreamers had an opportunity to explore a number of different careers from criminal lawyer to physical therapist to welder. Dreamers asked many questions about career training, college experiences, internships and work-life balance.

What I Did This Summer Vacation: Internships

This summer, several Dreamers had the opportunity to intern at professional companies across New York City, including Chelsea Montero, an 11th-grade Dreamer from our Chelsea-Elliott cohort.
