The Valpo Chamber works constantly to add value to your membership.  This month, the Valpo Chamber Mobile App arrived!

 

This new app will allow anyone in and around Valpo to find listing information on all chamber members. Each listing will give directions to the business, as well as contact information and a link to their website.

 

In addition to member information, you can now search Valpo Chamber news, publications, discounts, events and more.

Recently the PTABOA Board ruled unanimously that the Valpo Chamber would receive a 70.5 percent exemption on the real estate and personal property tax. This decision was based on the fact that the Chamber building was overwhelmingly used for the benefit of the community including other not for profit organizations and government.

 

This decision comes after nearly four months of study and two meetings where the Valpo Chamber answered questions and submitted documents before the local Tax Board. 

 

Representing the Chamber in this matter was Todd Leeth, Partner and Attorney with Hoeppner, Wagner and Evans.

 

The ruling affirms the Chamber's original intention of acquiring the building and renovating it for the use and benefit of the larger community and for other organizations that are government centered which are attempting to build the community from an economic development stand point.

This year, the Valpo, Duneland, and Portage Chambers are changing up the theme of Network Night.  It's all sports, all night!  The possibilities are endless with creating your booth to fit the theme. Be creative and enjoy a touchdown, or a basket, or a home run, or a GOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL!

 

Thursday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., the Porter County Chamber Coalition will host the largest business-to-business networking event in the region.

 

Last year, over 1,000 business professionals toured the Porter County Expo Center looking for the best new products and services offered in Porter County. The event is free to attend, so make sure you mark your calendar, because if you do business in Porter County, this is where you need to be!
