 We look forward to seeing you at the Reverse Rose Ceremony and Assembly on the last day of school. Watch as first graders return a rose to their 8th grade buddy and the grades' students present artistic gifts to the community. Festivities go from 10:30-11:30 and the traditional Journey farewell handshake begins at 11:45. Starting with first grade, students are released after the goodbyes--so come early for pick up. |
 The entire school came together in singing "May the Sun Be There" to wish Mr. Connolly a fond farewell on his last day. Patti and Tim Connolly have served Journey School over the years in many capacities, most recently as Co-Education Directors. Tim will join Patti in Zanzibar in the fall to mentor teachers at a Waldorf school that serves orphans and under-privileged children. Read a letter from Patti here.

Journey School's calendar and bell schedule have been released for the 2016-17 school year. Visit the website to review the new hours, holiday schedule, and attendance policies. To ensure your child remains in good attendance standing, please plan vacations only during school holidays.

As a charter school, we rely on parent support. Thank you to all of the Kindergarten parent volunteers who came together recently to help beautify the Kindergarten yard. Please save the date for our All School Work Party to be held on August 27. Also look for information from your class teacher and room parent regarding class specific work days that will occur over the summer. Many hands make light work! |

8TH GRADERS FINISH IN STYLE

8th graders presented their final class play, "To the Top of the Mountain" by Steven Moore on Thursday evening. Here's a peek at the show:

The 8th graders left Friday for their last class trip where they will spend 5 nights canoeing and camping, deepening bonds of friendship, making closure, and beginning the transition into high school. They return late Thursday night--the day before their last day of being middle schoolers. We are so proud of their accomplishments and we wish them much success in the future. The 8th grade graduation ceremony will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Laguna Niguel on Saturday, June 18 at 10am. Get the address here.

The last few weeks of school have given the students many opportunities to share their talents. The 7th and 8th grade music concert brought together the strings, recorder, ukulele, guitar and vocal skills that students have been honing over the last year.

SCOOTER'S JUNGLE FUNDRAISER

Celebrate the beginning of summer this Weds., 6/15, at Scooters Jungle and Journey gets 40% back. Proceeds on food and snacks also benefit the school. Join us from 1-4pm for sliding, jumping, pizza, and snacks. $10 kids/$5 adults. Parents must attend or arrange for supervision. This is NOT a drop-off event. Everyone is welcome.
