Come and check out the progress on the new raised garden bed in the Third Grade Garden. This project was announced at the Community Meeting and is sponsored by the Wyland Foundation, Toro Company, and Native West. The raised garden bed and Journey School will be featured as part of the National Mayor's Challenge as a model for Eco-literacy. On the morning of construction of the raised garden bed, the kindergartners of Morning Glory discovered a butterfly emerging for the first time. Today, 2nd graders read with a parent in the newly-renovated Native Garden.

Ms. Davis' 4th graders debuted talents and delighted peers on Tuesday morning with a rendition of "Sif and Her Golden Hair" that was inspired by their recent Norse Mythology block. Later, family and friends enjoyed an evening performance and were impressed by the student's hard work, excellent acting, and creative costumes. Here are some highlights: Read this MindShift article on arts integration and how it enhances learning.

First grade at Journey School is magical and the "movable" classrooms are a wonderful tool to help teachers maximize the space to allow movement and circle time. Here is a peek of Ms. Wilde's classroom that includes movable tables, student artwork, and chalkboard drawings: It's clear that Ms. Wilde has set the bar high for all Journey teachers with her exquisite chalkboard drawings. Above is part of her latest "Three Little Pigs" artwork where she creatively displays the letter "P".
