SAVE THE DATE: AUCTION GALA
Journey's Annual Auction Gala, the most anticipated night in Journey's calendar, is coming on Saturday, March 12. Show off your elegant, creative, or comfortable black and white "cocktail chic" and join your closest 200 Journey friends for bidding, dining, and dancing while raising funds for our favorite school! Over half of Parent Cabinet's financial support to Journey comes from this special evening. All Journey friends and families are needed to help make the Auction Gala a success!

Here's how YOU can help NOW:
  • Connect the Auction Committee with like-minded business sponsors for company mentions, logo placements and web links in our press releases, social media blasts, auction program/bid card, table cards, and mobile bidding website. Consider realtors, car dealers, restaurant owners, home service providers, medical and healing practitioners, and financial planners. Congratulations and thank you to Mark Michno of Loan Depot and Katie Vanderveen of Modern Woodman of America for snagging two of the top sponsorship spots!

  • Help fill the auction catalog with amazing, sought after and "exclusively Journey" items such as:
    • Box suite or hard-to-get concert or sporting event tickets
    • Airplane tickets, hotel/resort stays, Mammoth/Big Bear lodging
    • Celebrity chef or trendy restaurant experiences
    • Private wine tastings/tours
    • Summer camps
    • Handyman or landscaping services
    • Or... build a treehouse, knit a teepee, create a spa day, host a pig roast.... The possibilities are endless!
MOVIE SCREENING FOR PARENTS
What does it mean to be a man in America? How does society's definition of masculinity impact our boys' ability to be their true selves? How does it impact relations between men and women? The Sundance Film Festival Selection, The Mask You Live In, explores how such "masculinity" urges boys to disobey authority, binge drink, use drugs, engage in violent crime, and take their own lives. Please join the Journey School Community for the only SoCal public screening of this thought-provoking documentary on Wed. Jan. 27 at 6:30pm in the MPR. Tickets $5 in advance/$10 at the door, cash snack bar will benefit the All-School Field Trip fund. Buy your tickets now!
ATTENDANCE MEANS FUNDING
Through December 1, Journey was unable to claim $72,660 of student funding due to the high number of excused and unexcused absences. Please do your part and send your child to school every day, on time--unless they are ill. Students should be on their ramps at 8:25 when the first bell rings. Remember, Journey only receives funding when your child is at school.
PARKING LOT PROTOCOL PART 1
The first week back from break, combined with the heavy rain, created a challenging week in the parking lot. In order to keep traffic moving and students safe, please consider the following when dropping off your child:
  1. Arrive early to avoid the morning rush and the kindergarten traffic that begins at 8:30.
  2. As a courtesy to those behind you, remain in your vehicle in the drop-off zone and be prepared to drop your child off quickly.
  3. Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the drop off zone prior to 8:30.
  4. Park only if you have a kindergarten student or important school business.
  5. If you must park, use alternate parking to help relieve lot congestion.
CIRCUS WORKSHOP FOR GRADES 5-8
Students in grades 5-8 are invited to join Ms. Joy and special guest, Jennifer Dempsey, for an exclusive after school Circus Intensive to be held on Wed., Feb. 10 from 12:30-3pm.
