JOURNEY ALUMNI AS HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN: CLASS OF 2013
There were 22 graduates from the Class of 2013. We were able to reach 21 students and/or parents to ask about their high school success thus far. Read our preliminary findings. We just got more outstanding news from the Journey class of 2010, now college-bound seniors in high school.
A RENAISSANCE IN SPANISH
Today's students live in a world that is far different from the one in which we grew up. The economy is globalized. Technology is advancing at lightening speed. World demographics and borders are shifting rapidly. Here in California, 50% of the population is now Hispanic.
At Journey, we don't fear change, we embrace it; and, we use it as motivation to fuel innovative teaching efforts. In this context, we'd like to highlight the revitalized Foreign Language Department. Seoras Blanco and Ortiz are preparing students for high school studies and laying a strong foundation of world knowledge.

Our 8th graders share:
"We love Spanish like never before. We are learning so many new words and a lot about the Spanish culture. Our teacher makes learning really fun."

STUDENTS' GIFT TO THE SCHOOL
Carson and his 8th Grade peers spearheaded the making of a tree bench that is a beautiful new addition to the campus. Thanks to this class gift, students will enjoy a seat in the shade for years to come. Read more here.
THANK YOU MS. LIZ!

Miss Liz is currently learning Spanish and hopes to travel to Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries to explore their beautiful arts and crafts and to further her own artistic talents.
