Journey School Auction is just two weeks away...
|
Journey parents are the most responsible, caring partners imaginable. You pack healthy meals, monitor screen time, spend family time in nature, volunteer abundantly, and drive many miles to reach us. You look after each other's kids and co-create a wholesome place for them to thrive. There's no place like Journey. And, there's no one like you.
Yet, we have a long way to go when it comes to the parking lot. Recently, we've had multiple car accidents. We've also seen young children left unattended, cars in handicap spaces without placards, locked vehicles parked in the middle of drive-thru lanes, children running ahead of parents on the asphalt, and drivers talking distractedly on phones or rushing at high speeds.
Starting next week, Ms. Sara will lead renewed efforts to improve matters in the lot while Mr. Storm greets you at the cul-de-sac. We ask that you honor these unsung heroes' authority at all times. Additionally, please click here to volunteer to be part of the solution. You are also invited to join Administration for a coffee on Thursday, 2/27 at 8:45 in the Development Office. The topic of conversation will be School Expansion and your input will be solicited.
In the meantime, please remember the following:
- Drive slowly, attentively, and patiently. Be courteous at all times and honor our honk-free and cell-free expectations.
- Drop-off along the yellow curb, not at the fountain.
- Only park in designated spaces. The yellow curb may now be used in the AM for K drop-off after 8:30. Otherwise, you will block important lanes. The yellow curb may be used in the PM for K pick-up but do not park in traffic lanes. Do not block parked vehicles under any circumstances.
- Please expect thick traffic since more students now have access to Journey's unique program. If you need one of our limited parking spaces you must arrive early. Otherwise, please expect to park elsewhere to avoid frustration.

7th and 8th graders need to return Track & Field Meet waivers by 2/21. The Track & Field Meet is an annual meeting of Waldorf Schools in Southern California that will take place on 3/14. Learn more on our Calendar & Festivals page.
|
Please join us for a Lunch Fundraiser at Pick-up Stix next Wednesday 2/26 between 11am-9pm at the Aliso Viejo location (LaPaz and Alicia next to Powell's Candy Shop). Download the required flyer here. If we spend over $250, 20% of the proceeds will go to Journey. Don't forget to tell your friends and neighbors.

We are searching for exceptional student artwork from all grades for the upcoming Journey Auction and for the Imagination Celebration, a county-wide celebration of arts in education. Please bring all artwork donations, labeled with the artist's name, age, and grade, to the front office. Art for the Auction will be sold to the highest bidder, benefiting Journey School. Art for the Imagination Celebration will be returned to each artist later this year. For more information contact Miss Gaylen.

- A Secure Home Found: Thank you for stepping up to help a Journey Family in need as published in the last edition of the Thursday Know. 3 separate families immediately offered help. Because of their kindness, a cherished student and loving mother are now well taken care of and remain at the school. You're amazing.
- Teacher In Need: A hard-working teacher is in need of a functioning, safe car. Each day she walks to and from school or hitches a ride. After working hard at the school, she then hustles home to run the household--always poised and never complaining. Surely, someone in the community may have a viable solution. Please contact Mr. Shaheer if you can help.
- Lost Diamond: It was found! Thank you to everyone who helped search for it.
