KNOW WHY WE VALUE PARENT INVOLVEMENT
As parents, you are your child's first and most important teacher. Studies demonstrate that meaningful parental involvement enhances student success and school culture. That's why we will hold parent conferences from November 18-22 between 1:00-4:00 p.m. Be on the lookout for communication from your child's teacher about appointments. Childcare will be provided for those of you who may need help. Please RSVP for childcare.
KNOW WHY MINDFULNESS IS KEY FOR KIDS
Parents gathered outdoors on movie night to view "Room to Breathe"--a film about mindfulness as an educational tool. Insightful discussion followed. Mindfulness teaches students to be more contemplative, present, and calm. Journey School middle school students explore Mindfulness in their Digital Media Literacy studies. Per parent request, more information about Mindfulness is below:

KNOW ABOUT THE KINDY MEETING ON 10/24
We hope to see all Kindergarten families at the Community Parent Event on Thursday, October 24th from 5:30-7:15pm. We'll discuss the 10 Needs For a Healthy Childhood and Educational Experience and how we can support each other as parents. Please come early and bring a finger food to share. Limited childcare is available by contacting your teacher directly.
KNOW HOW TO BECOME A PARENT AMBASSADOR
If you love to tell others about Journey and the impact the school and community has had on your child and family, please join us at a Parent Ambassador Training on Oct. 23 at 11am. Learn how to share your stories with potential donors and community partners to help cultivate the relationships that will fund our future! For information, email communitypartners@journeyschool.net.
KNOW ABOUT HARVEST FAIRE-2 WEEKS AWAY
Harvest Faire is November 2 from Noon-4:30pm
Please ensure your child attends school each day on time. Our weekly attendance rate is 95.21% and the year-to-date average is 96%. Please remember that the school loses $47 with each student absence, no matter the reason.
KNOW ABOUT PARKING & DROP-OFF
In the effort to improve our parking and drop-off in the morning, Kindergarten families are now permitted to park along the yellow drop-off lane after 8:30am. Thanks for your cooperation and patience! You have been wonderfully understanding.
We are so grateful to Sara and our team of volunteers that keep everyone safe. Please honor them in the parking lot at all times.
KNOW ABOUT PARENT EDUCATION
Teacher mentor, Susan Goldstein, will present two parent presentations during the week of November 4th. Please be on the lookout for details. Additionally, learn more about Parent Education on the following links:

KNOW ABOUT ORDERING LUNCHES
Lunch order forms are available in the office and on our website.
Gratitude Team - We are in need of two volunteers to hand-write thank you notes to donors, connect with our communications team, assist with press releases (we'll teach you how), and follow-up with funders on how their money was spent. Email communitypartners@journeyschool.net for more information.
KNOW HOW YOU CAN HELP A SPECIAL CAUSE
Liam was the younger, beloved brother of 5th Grader Sunny May. Our community honors Liam's memory each year by supporting his Memorial Golf Tournament. The 7 th annual tournament is Friday, November 15 th, at Aliso Creek Golf Course. More details are on the way and profits benefit the Intervention Center for Early Childhood.
