KNOW HOW THE HAYNES FOUNDATION & COMMUNITY PARTNERS SUPPORT JOURNEY
The Journey Foundation received a $5000 donation from the Haynes Foundation last Friday. We are grateful to Mary and Daniel Mazmanian for facilitating this gift, which will be matched by an additional $5000 thanks to Rob and Linda McGee. Also, we recently hosted representatives from the Hurley Company and Ecology Center to collaborate on stewardship.  Toyota's Director for Philanthropy will also tour campus October 18th to explore partnership opportunities. We ask all families and friends to forward potential development leads to [email protected]. Thank you for your ongoing support in securing the school's bright future.
KNOW ABOUT COMPASSIONATE CAMPUS
Virtue of the Month (October)- Trustworthiness
Trustworthiness is being worthy of trust. People can count on you to do your best, to keep your word and to follow through on your commitments. Others can rely on you. They trust that if it is at all possible, you will do what you said you would do, even if it becomes really hard. When you are trustworthy, others can be sure of you and you can be sure of yourself.

Affirmation: I am trustworthy. I keep my promises. I keep my word. I am worthy of the trust others place in me.
KNOW HOW YOU CAN BE COMPASSIONATE TO A JOURNEY FRIEND IN NEED
One of our longtime Journey family members, Erin Warrack, mom of Ian (graduated last year), and Colleen (graduated three years ago), and beloved sister of our own dear Miss Shoon, was diagnosed with breast cancer in late June. She had major surgery this last month, and is now recuperating and fighting to regain her health. The Journey Faculty and Staff would love for us to reach out as a community to support Erin and her family through this very difficult time. Fighting cancer is hard enough, facing the financial realities of a major illness can be staggering. If you would like to add to our collective donation, please click here or check in with Rachel in the office. Thank you so much!
KNOW THE BENEFITS OF WALKING TO SCHOOL
Journey parents have been AWESOME about walking students to school!  Thank you so much for your cooperation in supporting your child's health and school expansion even though it is not always convenient. We thought you would enjoy reading recent research that demonstrates how walking to school helps students.
