The past three months of flu season have been very trying for our families. We look forward to good health in the spring for all the events and the academic work leading to STAR testing when 100 percent attendance is especially important.

School Day Schedule Changes in April
Minimum Days and Spring Break

 

Minimum Days: Wednesday, April 3rd is normally a minimum day. Thursday and Friday, April 4th and 5th are also minimum days with early out at 12:30pm.

 

Spring Break is Monday, April 8th through Friday, April 12th. Students will return to school on Monday, April 15th.

Playsilk Dyeing

Miss Tammra will be teaching how to dye playsilks using natural dyes, Kool-Aid (which should only be used for dying and never for human consumption, of course!) and basic kitchen tools.

Lost & Found
Claim Your Lost & Found Items on Monday, April 15th 
The items will be displayed on the fence by the outer drop off spot -- in front of the playground entrance to the school. Unclaimed items will be placed back into the big gray bins by the children's restrooms until Friday, April 19th when they will be taken to a donation site. If an item is newly lost, it will go through another cycle before it is donated.
Imagination Celebration (April 20th - May 26th)
The annual Imagination Celebration is sponsored by Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education. It is a county-wide arts festival featuring music, dance, theater, film, visual art and literary arts. of arts. Check their calendar of over 50 free or affordable arts events in Orange County. 

Every Week
  • Parent Craft Club at 9:00am in the Handwork Room - April theme is silk painting techniques. Small material fee.
  • Gardening & Composting Wednesdays - Contact Michele Whiteaker to help our Garden Helpers maintain our outdoor classrooms each week.
  • Jamba Juice Wednesdays - Jamba Juice sale proceeds help Parent Cabinet fund the events and festivals it sponsors each year.
  • Recycling Thursdays - Every Thursday morning at drop-off our 4th grade team collects CRV labeled plastic bottles and aluminum cans.  No glass please.
  • Community Support Agriculture (CSA) Thursdays - Every Thursday - order your box today from Tanaka Farms to benefit Journey and your family.
  • Lunch Form Fridays - Every Friday lunch order forms are collected for the following week's or month's lunch orders.
