Special Announcement
January 29, 2013
JOURNEY SCHOOL FOUNDATION
TO OPEN CAMPUS STORE
Journey School and the Rob and Linda McGee REACH Development Office (Journey School Foundation) are excited to announce that a new campus store will open on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. The specific store hours will be published soon.

The Journey School Store's mission is to promote the school's core principles and values. Helpful books and inspiring gifts will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the store will support Journey School through the Foundation.

The store is intended to be a reverent and enchanting space, offering an array of natural and handmade goods aligned with Waldorf education and Journey School community values. Some of the items planned for sale in the store include:

  • Waldorf school supplies
  • Waldorf-inspired craft and art supplies
  • Natural and handmade toys and gifts
  • Natural products for home and health
  • Waldorf-inspired parenting, education, and crafting books
  • Age-level and curriculum-appropriate books for children
Coffee, tea and baked goods will be available in the store cafe. There will also be an outdoor space where parents can gather. If you want to be part of the excitement of launching the store, keep reading to see how you can help.

The store stands apart from the main office. Please direct all inquiries to store@journeyschool.net rather than disturbing office staff.

Filling our store with goodness
If you are interested in selling your Waldorf-inspired, handmade, and/or natural products on a consignment basis through the store, please contact store@journeyschool.net for more information.

Filling our bellies with goodness
We are looking for Baking Angels to supply the store cafe with donated, delicious, wholesome, and nut-free baked goods. If you are able to provide baked goods on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, please contact store@journeyschool.net. All proceeds from the cafe will go to the Journey School Foundation.

Day-to-day store operations
If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents to support the store's operation once it's open, please contact store@journeyschool.net for more information.

Special thanks
Special thanks are owed to the Young-Southard family for their dedication to Journey School. Johanna and Brad have taken the vision for this store and made it a reality with the help of other crafty parents. Bonnie River, who is currently teaching the 6th grade, gave up her office space--near the lunch area--to ensure we have a place at school to share Waldorf education and encourage parent involvement.

We are very excited about having our very own school store. It will provide our community with instant access to hard-to-find Waldorf items while generating revenue to benefit our school.

Thanks,

Elizabeth Beas
