RSVP FOR KINDY OUTDOOR KICK-OFF!
|
You Are Invited!
Journey School Kindergarten Community
Outdoor Classroom Kick-off!
The Kindergarten teachers invite you to join us for our first work day event, Sunday, November 18th from 8:00-2:00pm. Journey School has been a pretty busy place lately, and we are so grateful for all the parental support and participation. We hope to continue this momentum, as we are committed to creating a beautiful outdoor classroom for your children; but we need your help. Let's head off to Thanksgiving break with a great sense of accomplishment and excitement, knowing the children will benefit each day from our combined efforts.
Chili, Cornbread and Cider provided!
(Please RSVP so we know how much to prepare!) Things we need:
YOU! and... stumps, big round rocks, several hay bales, chain saws, wine barrel planters, soil, plants such as plumbago, trumpet and grapevine, blueberries, fruit trees such as apple, orange, mandarin and peach. Items for our outdoor "kitchen" are also welcome especially pots, pans, and large spoons--preferably metal.
One special item we are looking for is a small sailboat to "plant" our play yard. Please let us know if you have a small, old sailboat, or know someone who might want to donate one.
We are asking that you RSVP to Ms. Jill or Ms. Laura so that we know we will how many volunteers and can prepare enough food.
THANK YOU!

BOOK FAIR REMAINS OPEN ONLINE
|
Thank you for your support of this week's Book Fair and for helping create a school culture imbued with imagination, creativity, and literacy. This year the Book Fair includes an extended purchasing period online. Every dollar spent through the Online Book Fair earns points for Journey that we use to get free books for our classrooms! Please encourage family members who can't visit the Book Fair in person to support our efforts during the Online Book Fair which runs through November 30. Thank you Lisa Crow, Lisa O'Neil and all of the Book Fairies!

Prospective families interested in enrolling their child in 2013-14 are advised to sign-up now for a campus tour. The purpose is to provide an opportunity to more fully grasp our educational program, school culture, and expectations before submitting an application for next year's lottery. We look forward to welcoming you to campus. Please note that no additional student applications for 2012-13 will be accepted. Student enrollment in Grades 3-8 is entirely closed. Final enrollment decisions for K-2 classes are pending and will be announced by Thanksgiving.

Sometimes we need to look back to see how far we've come. Some remember the roots of the Green Heart Garden and how it began in 2010. In three short years, it's been transformed into what it is today. So many hands helped shape the garden and continue to contribute to its success. Read more about those who have helped it grow on our Green Partners and Garden Donors page.
