George Couros' conversation with educators at the Lyceum yesterday on personalized and blended learning was a real-time demonstration of it - incorporating Twitter-Facebook communications, photo images and video excerpts, all illustrating where and how we go about learning today.  The question is, how can technology best spur students' achievement in ways that help them reach their potential?

Parents everywhere want high-quality schools for their children.  Hartford is no exception.  Today, on the sidewalk in front of the State Department of Education, Hartford parents asked state and local education leaders a question on behalf of their kids: Where's My Seat?  It's the question all advocates must keep asking.

With her own demanding work as President and CEO of the Conference of Churches, where the mission is to create a healthy and just community, Rev. Shelley Best was really not looking for another job.  But her friends, family and colleagues persuaded her to accept the Mayor's appointment to the Hartford Board of Education.  In the interest of Hartford becoming a turnaround school system, believing we should have the capacity to educate all children, she is on board.
