Even After the Major Board Evolution Since the '90s, Low Election Turnout Is a Familiar Concern

InDepth The past two decades of Hartford Board of Education history have brought more than enough drama: for many years, superintendents whirled through a revolving door before the state took control in 1997, after the state of the schools had reached crisis proportions.  Through all of this, and since then, election turnouts have been somewhere between low and embarrassing.  Now what? 

Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Extends Support for Reform

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has awarded Achieve Hartford! a three-year, $300,000 grant in support of the independent, nonprofit organization's efforts to foster a community-wide approach to improving Hartford's public education system.
