The faith-based community serving Hartford children and families encompasses dozens of diverse clergy, countless volunteers and parishioners, and, interestingly, some suburban "magnet" congregations that attract Hartford residents to services outside the city. What does this dedicated world of faith have to do with the Hartford Public Schools?

State-Funded Parent Academy Approved, Part of Robust Landscape
The Hartford Board of Education this week approved a partnership agreement between the Hartford Public Schools and the Parent Academy, LLC, to launch a state-funded effort aimed to serve 250 parents this spring. This is just one of several citywide initiatives seeking to build parents' involvement - and their capacity to play a significant role - in the education for their children.
