When Marquette University professor and former Milwaukee School Superintendent Howard Fuller addressed a Hartford audience last week about the urgency of urban school reform, his view was that nothing is more urgent.  "Number one, these are our children.  Second, we've got to save our country," he maintained.  What could be more basic?

When Howard Fuller visited Hartford last week he asked the question, "Is there an Education Reform movement in Hartford?"  
 
At Achieve Hartford!, we believe the answer is, "Yes, but," and that's not good enough.

When my sons were school age, I wonder, how often did I think about their education.  I mean really think about it.  I made sure the kids got off to school and assumed (or blindly hoped) that they were learning what they needed to know.
