D/2 Solutions

 D/2 Biological Solution is a biodegradable, easy to use liquid that removes stains from mold, algae, mildew, lichens and air pollutants. It is effective on marble, granite, limestone, brownstone, travertine, masonry, terra cotta, concrete, stucco, wood, and other architectural surfaces including monuments, sculpture and headstones. A contact time of only 10 to 15 minutes followed by scrubbing with a soft nylon or natural bristle brush will loosen most biological and air pollutant staining.  Cleaning with D/2 can reduce recurrence of biological growth and, because D/2 contains no acids, bleach, or salts, it will not discolor or damage treated wood surfaces.

David just finished speaking at Surfaces/Stone Expo in Las Vegas for the 8th year in a row on stone restoration and the science of sealing stone with DuPont Stone Tec's George O'Regan.  David also did a demonstration at Surfaces about getting scratches out of engineered stone, or what is called quartz.  The demonstration was such a success that he was invited back to Las Vegas to do it all over again at the Coverings Expo.   Aside from the Concrobium line of products , ESP Sales has also picked up the Bonstone line of products.  This Bonstone line of adhesives are the most advanced and innovative adhesives in the stone industry. 

Weep Holes: 

I know, what the heck is a weep hole?  Weep holes are a vital part of your shower drain assembly.  Typically, there are 3 such holes in the upper portion of the drain assembly, these holes are spaced evenly around the drain.  The weep holes are small holes that connect to the main drain, allowing water that enters them to feed evenly into the drain pipe.  If your shower drain is all one piece of the shower pan, you might also have weep holes in the pan itself.  The problem is that hair, body oils, soap residue, and hard water can clog these little holes (especially hair conditioner and white bar soaps) causing water to stay in the pan.  If you find that the lower shower walls and floors are darker then the rest of the stone this may be due to clogged weep holes.  And yes, this is fixable.  I bring this up because we are doing a large amount of repairs every week and no one seems to be able to identify the weep hole system.
