National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey 2012  

October 19th & 20th at SMCC

 

National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey will build awareness and enthusiasm for alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, showcasing a wide range of technologies and fuels, including electric, propane, natural gas, biodiesel, hybrids, and idle reduction.

Maine Clean Communities and Southern Maine Community College's (SMCC) Transportation Technology Department are teaming up again to offer "Odyssey Day" in South Portland on Friday October 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 20th from 10:00-3:00 p.m. at SMCC.  (In case of bad weather the event will be held inside.)

 

Numerous alternative fuel vehicles, along with displays and exhibitors of fuel reduction techniques, speakers and experts will be on hand to promote the newest in alternative fuel vehicles and technologies.

 

Technology & Economics of Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy for Maine Businesses
October 18th

October 18th from 8:30 to Noon The Hydrogen Energy Center (HEC) of Portland, Maine is conducting a 5-location video-conference workshop with major fuel cell and hydrogen energy equipment & technology firms and Maine businesses, exploring the technologies, products and economics associated with rapidly evolving fuel cell and hydrogen energy systems.

This event will focus on 4 energy applications of relevance to Maine businesses and facilities:

  • On-site combined heat, power, cooling and fuel production systems for buildings, industrial applications and utility power supply.
       
  • Energy storage used in conjunction with wind energy generation and other intermittent energy production technologies - hydrogen energy storage technologies being developed in Europe and the US.
       
  • Fuel cell energy and associated fuel and chemical production to expand energy and chemical product outputs from pulp and paper manufacturing.
       
  • Current technology status and future economic prospects for fuel cell -powered vehicle fleets.

AltWheels is Back!
Fleet Day

AltWheels 2012 

AltWheels Fleet Day is the largest corporate and municipal Fleet Managers event on the East Coast. Come see and hear the latest in fleet transportation technologies, alternative fuels and fleet management practices.

The day consists of panels, exhibits, and vehicles offering a showcase of alternative transportation solutions - from concept vehicles, to vehicles that are available and affordable today. This year's Fleet Day will be hosted at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel and conference center on Route 1 in Norwood, MA in their state-of-the-art conference space with a large outdoor vehicle display.
