We had beautiful weather and a great turn-out for the 30th Annual OGE Fun Run! Runners snaked through the Lakeside's trail and raced around the track.  Look for a list of award winners in next week's Oak Tree.

bkfastPTA Breakfast with Mrs. Fallon

Our next PTA meeting will be on Tuesday, March 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Our featured speaker will be Interim Principal Toni Fallon, who will discuss ongoing Reading and Writing  initiatives at Oak Grove.

There will be a very brief PTA meeting at the beginning, at which time we will vote on the proposed slate of officers for the 2013-2014 PTA Board. The slate is posted on the front door of the school. We hope to see you at the breakfast!
SRTSGolden Shoe Trophy
Good Job Oak Grove! Despite the cooler weather and dark morning, we had 156 walkers on Wednesday!

Congratulations to Ms. Albright's class! They received the Golden Shoe Trophy! Each week we will tally the walkers to see which class has the highest percentage of walkers and that class will be awarded the Golden Shoe Trophy.  So get out and walk and/or bike each week!  Note: There will also be a sign-in sheet in the lobby for the 4th and 5th grade band and strings and 5th grade patrol children that walk so they too can be counted.

Parents, in order to make the Golden Shoe Trophy competition fair, if you are unable to walk from your home (which we encourage), please park at the church parking lot and walk with your child or park on a side street no closer than Greenglade. For kids who come in through the back door, please park on Kirkland or further up the street on N. Akin. We do want you to walk and, more importantly, we want this to be a fair
competition. Thanks!
Remember to be safe and be seen!
