grantOak Grove Receives Grant from CHOA

Oak Grove Elementary received a grant from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)to get 16 staff members CPR and AED certified.  The PTA recently purchased a new AED machine as part of efforts to improve school safety and wellness.  Oak Grove is now a Heart-Safe School!

The PTA would like to say "Thank-you!" to all Oak Grove families (and friends) that contributed to our Boosterthon fundraiser this year, thereby allowing us to purchase the AED!

It's that time of year again-time to put your art talent to work for the clean air cause. This year's theme: Leading the Way for Cleaner Air!

How can we Lead the Way for Clean Air? What does leading look like? How can a regular person lead other people to care about the air? Create a comic strip about actions kids can take to lead the way in reducing air pollution. Be creative and have fun! Your cartoon should include one or more of the following actions: riding the bus, walking, biking, public transit, carpooling, combining car trips, or not idling.

Click here to visit the Clean Air Campaign web site.  Look for the "Comic Strip Challenge" section.  There is a link at the end of the section to download the challenge guidelines and entry form.  Deadline is March 8th.
