It's that time of year again-time to put your art talent to work for the clean air cause. This year's theme: Leading the Way for Cleaner Air!

How can we Lead the Way for Clean Air? What does leading look like? How can a regular person lead other people to care about the air? Create a comic strip about actions kids can take to lead the way in reducing air pollution. Be creative and have fun! Your cartoon should include one or more of the following actions: riding the bus, walking, biking, public transit, carpooling, combining car trips, or not idling.

Click here to visit the Clean Air Campaign web site.  Look for the "Comic Strip Challenge" section.  There is a link at the end of the section to download the challenge guidelines and entry form.  Deadline is March 8th.

elpcEmory LaVista Parent Council (ELPC) Update
At last week's ELPC meeting, our state legislators assured parents that DeKalb County should not have accreditation revoked.  Instead, they suspect that the State Board of Education will recommend removal of the DeKalb Board of Education if significant progress is not made before the February 21st hearing.  At that point, Governor Deal may remove all members, though they may petition to be reinstated.  State Senator Fran Millar suggested that parents write the Governor with their feelings about the process.
