 PTA Funds Restricted
At a special PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 13, the PTA general membership voted to restrict $922 for the purchase of a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This device will replace a broken one that was purchased by the PTA several years ago. The membership also voted to restrict $20,000 to be reserved for the purchase of technology (which could include items like interactive boards, voters, i-Pads, laptops, etc.).
We would like to thank all PTA families for helping make these contributions possible! |

Class and Makeup Pictures

Angie Whitaker and Joe Carson will be at Oak Grove on Wednesday, November 28th, to take class pictures and individual makeup pictures.
Mark the date on your calendar so your child will be ready to smile! Please contact Kristen Logan at kristenvlogan@yahoo.com, should you have any questions. |
November Farm-To-School Day
The next Farm-to-School Day is Wednesday, November 28th, and the item is local sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes are one of the MOST nutritious foods in the vegetable kingdom. They are packed with calcium, iron, and vitamins B-6, E, and C. Their beta-carotene and vitamin A are great for your skin. Their potassium helps stop muscle cramps, so eat them before playing sports.
Don't miss these nutrition super heroes either with the school lunch, as an a-la-carte item for $.75, or packed in lunch brought from home. Contact Rebecca Evans at TheEvanses@gmail.com for information and to volunteer. |

Book Fair Kudos
It was a wonderful and very successful week at the Fall Book Fair!
Many thanks to:
Our amazing volunteers, who spent hours setting up, restocking books, selling books, and repacking the fair. We would not have been able to do it without you!
Our fabulous Librarian, Linda Stuhr, for allowing us to turn the media center into one of the biggest Book Fairs we have had, for answering our 1000s of questions and for finding that huge extension cord!
The Oak Grove community for your support!
Remember to come visit the Book Fair this Spring! Whitney Payne, Carol Smith & Heather Kelly (Book Fair Co-Chairs)
