Walking Wednesday Update
Another great turn-out Oak Grove! We had 216 walkers and bikers this past Wednesday and each one received a cool bookmark.
Try getting out and walking each day (not just Wednesdays) in order to cut down on traffic congestion and pollution - in addition to enjoying this gorgeous weather we've been having!
Our last official 'Walking Wednesday' for the fall will be Halloween so get out and join in the fun!
As always, remember to be safe and be seen!

Updates & Reminders from Dr. Neely
- Thank you to the many families that have donated to our Grover's Angels Fund. One of our cafeteria servers, Brenda Woodley, lost her home to a fire at the end of September. We are still accepting donations should you like to contribute. Checks should be made out to Oak Grove Elementary. We will provide you with a receipt for any and all donations. Gift cards to WalMart or Kohl's are appreciated. Thank you!
- Thank you to Teresa Pernini and Beth Deery for leading the Fall Family Dance Committee. They led a team of volunteers to put on a fun and well-attended event.
- Benchmark testing is underway up for K-5 students this month. Students will take a short (not for a grade) assessment over the first 9 week unit of instruction in Math & Reading (K-5), Science & Social Studies (3-5). This information will help our school respond to any gaps in instruction as we plan the next 9 week unit. Benchmark testing is a DCSD initiative.
