Senior Volunteer at Midway Celebrates Milestone Birthday
CHICAGO, October 12, 2012 - Today is a special day for one Volunteer Ambassador at Midway International Airport. It's birthday number 95 for Lucille Serafin, who has worked at the airport since 2001. Serafin volunteers for two, four-hour shifts a month. She says she has greeted many travelers from all over the world and that she feels a sense of accomplishment.

"Volunteering at Midway is a great experience, full of a lot of laughs and good conversations with airport passengers and employees", said Serafin. "I'm busier now then when I worked many years ago".
As part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's "Chicago We're Glad You're Here" Program, millions of visitors each year are greeted by enthusiastic Airport Ambassadors at Information Booths. The Information Booths, created in cooperation with Choose Chicago, provide convention visitors and travelers from around the world with information on Chicago's many cultural venues and landmarks.
The Ambassadors spread holiday cheer during the busiest of travel seasonwhile assisting with special events and entertainment. The friendly smiles of our volunteers are appreciated by millions of visitors to Chicago who pass through our airports each year.
