Here are links to articles that we hope you will enjoy and perhaps spend some time discussing them with others:
Exhaustion Is Not a Status Symbol
I have really seen that more in the past two years than any other time in my work. And I think it's a combination of technology and the economic realities, where so many people are doing more than one job. It's the whole adage of doing more with less. To be really honest with you, I don't think it's doable. The expectations of what we can get done, and how well we can do it, are beyond human scale.

How To Take a Vacation Without Being Bothered By Work
Vacations are a great time to recharge and reconnect. And by that I mean, recharge your batteries, not your electronic devices, and reconnect with loved ones and maybe your pillow.
I get it - you're dedicated to your work; especially since your work is inextricably tied to your faith. That's admirable, yet it can become an issue if you can't break away for a week or two.

Most churches are on a tight budget and will usually opt for the cheapest hosting they can find. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the purpose of this article is to help you understand exactly what you are paying for and why it might be worth it to spend a bit more to ensure the long-term success of your church's website. We will cover four types of web hosting: shared, VPS, dedicated and cloud.

An Attitude of Gratitude In the Workplace
How often do you get a thank you from anyone in your organization? Is it once a week, a month or a year. A study conducted by the John Templeton Foundation discovered that the workplace is the least likely place that someone would get a "thank you."

NOTE: The articles listed do not necessarily reflect the opinion of or intended to be an endorsement by the Presbytery of Lake Huron but are shared to encourage discussion of various topics.

REACH Workcamp Begins in Vassar
REACH Work Camps bring the love of Christ in a very tangible way to many people in need. Each summer, hundreds of youth and adults descend on various communities throughout the U.S. to do all kinds of home repairs or updating for needy homeowners. Our youth and adult volunteers have participated in REACH work camps for several years.
Beginning this weekend, REACH is coming to Vassar for 2 weeks! This will be a tremendous opportunity for our community, our youth and adult volunteers, and the many more youth and adults that will come from all over the country to serve here.
For more information please visit their Facebook page or contact Vassar-First at 989-823-7671.

Flint-Trinity United invites all to
A Leadership Summit:
Developing and Executing a Strategy for Growth and Discipleship
July 18-19, 2015 Saturday: 9:30am-3:00pm
Sunday: 10:30am - 3:00pm
Facilitator, Teacher, Preacher: The Rev. Hurmon E. Hamilton, New Beginnings Community Church of Mountain View, California (former Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church USA, Boston, Massachusetts)
Rev. Hamilton was a Presbyterian pastor for 23 years. In April of 2014, he began a new church development in the Bay area. One year later his congregation has doubled in size. He is coming to share his strategies for growth and discipleship. Come and be a part of this two-day experience and gain some insightful and helpful information.
Rev. Hamilton will help us think through our next steps. He will help us design and implement a process for growth.
- Why do we exist?
- How do we behave?
- What do we do?
- How will we succeed?
These are some of the critical questions we will discuss as we prepare to move our congregations into the next phase of ministry!
If this interests you, please contact the Rev. Desiree Lawson at Flint-Trinity United at revlawsond@yahoo.com or 810-720-5152 Seating will be limited! Click here for more information and a printable flier.
