General Assembly, Day 7

Lake Huron Friends,

It is Friday at the 221st General Assembly. There were many items discussed and decided yesterday. Certainly none received more attention and press coverage than the debates and decisions about Civil Unions and marriage Issues. One of the things that moved me was the request from Moderator Rada that those of us who were delighted by the decisions would remember those whose hearts were broken. And those who cried tears of disappointment were asked to remember those who had worked long for this day. We must be the Church and celebrate our Oneness in Christ.

Following are items that the PC(USA) has released regarding these decisions.

Pastoral Letter from the 221st General Assembly Moderator, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly and Presbyterian Mission Agency Executive Director
