Moon Walk Wisconsin will be October 11!

Join us on for Moon Walk Wisconsin, along the moon-lit Tomorrow River State Trail. The Tomorrow River State Trail begins in Plover, Wisconsin (behind the Copps Market on Highway B) and extends through eastern Portage County. The moon reflects off of the limestone trail, providing a partially lit path. Carved pumpkins light the mile markers. Like the summer Walk Wisconsin event, snacks, beverages, portable toilets and rest stops are available along the course.

Registration is only $5 until October 5, and $10 after that. On-site registration is available.

Other Upcoming Active Events in the Stevens Point Area:

  • 2014 Walk for Hope: Come out and walk as a group for suicide prevention and mental health awareness during this 3.1 mile walk that begins at 9am, with celebration to follow on September 13.
  • Walk MS 5K: The first Walk MS: Stevens Point will be held on September 14, on the UWSP campus. Come out and walk to support those diagnosed with MS in Wisconsin, as well as research, as a team or individual.
  • WELLers Walk: On Saturday, September 20 in Pfiffner Park, come out for a non-competitive, family-friendly event to raise awareness of the need for clean drinking water and funds to help deliver it to those in need. This unique event combines from Pfiffner Park to Bukolt Park, with participants filling and carrying water jugs to a central location, as if they were making the trek many villagers in Cameroon, Africa make daily.
  • Lettie's Central Waters River 5 Mile Run/2 Mile Walk:  The Central Waters Brewery will host a 5 mile run and 2 mile walk at 10am Saturday October 11. Following the race, check out the Fall Fun Festival.
  • St. Brons Marathon: The area's newest half and full marathon event will be held on Sunday, October 12. The course starts and finishes in Woyak Park and is a Boston Qualifier (BQ) race!
