Effingham E-Club Hosts Glo Dance |
The Effingham Jr. High School E-Club (Entrepreneurial Club) chose to organize a "Glow Dance" for the other students at the Jr. High for their one-day business. The dance was held on the evening of Friday April 12th.
The students worked hard in the weeks before the dance to arrange for decorations, advertising, concessions, and one small group even organized a dance competition.
The students found that the planning and hard work did pay off and they did indeed make a profit. They will reap their rewards with a year-end bash. The students will be going to Isaak's Family Fun Center in Mattoon to play miniature golf and laser tag while enjoying pizza and ice cream.
During their fun day, the entrepreneurial learning will still continue. One of the owners of Isaak's Family Fun Center will speak with the students about how they started the business and what sort of everyday challenges they deal with running a small business.

EastCentralIllinoisEvents.com
ECIDC's goal in launching www.EastCentralIllinoisEvents.com is to raise awareness within our 11-county region (our 255,000 residents) of the wonderful events that are close to home and offered by our communities. We can support one another's events, have access to healthy local foods, and have fun at the same time! By using this new online tool, area residents can subscribe to receive a free, monthly email link to the online calendar and easily locate events filtered by date and interest such as: Great for Children, Fairs & Festivals, Recreation & Fitness, Performing Arts, Shows & Expos, & Farmers Markets. The ECIDC Marketing Team would greatly appreciate any help you can provide to enable east central Illinois residents to learn of this new resource. We also wish to thank Imagine This! Marketing Group of Effingham and Lake Land College for their support of this project. Read More |
