Terrapin Station Winery
Greetings!

The vines are dormant, the fermentation is complete and the 2012 vintage is well on its way.

Now it's time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends! And while we might be a bit biased, what better way to celebrate than with wine! Better yet, with one of our 1.5 L boxes that look great in gift wrap - no one will know it's wine inside.

We are reducing our box wine prices until the end of the year and offering coupons here and on our Facebook page in order to help you give the gift of wine (see the bottom of this page for a $5 off coupon). Even better, stop by the tasting room just to take a break from the mall and all that traffic!

But most of all, take the time to celebrate with your family and friends as we all take stock of another year.

Holiday Tasting Room Hours

Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 23-25

12pm-4pm
Saturdays in December through the 22nd from 12-4

We do wind down as the year winds down, but there are plenty of opportunities to stop by and say hello!

On cooler days, we often will get the crock pot heated up with some red wine and mulling spices so that you can enjoy a nice mug of mulled wine as you enjoy the Fall.

The 2012 Vintage: A Quick Report

After a difficult 2011 vintage featuring almost 10 inches of rain in the month of September, we are glad to report that 2012 was an excellent vintage!

The fruit quality was outstanding, although our volumes were down due to the late frost in May that damaged many of the fruitful buds. The Traminette in particular was notable this year, as was our Cayuga White. We are so enthusiastic about both that we already plan a reserve bottling to go with our traditional box versions.

We are diligently working to get the white wines ready for early 2013.

Book Signings This Weekend!

Ken Lang, Saturday and Sunday November 24-25 12-4 PM

Regina McCarthy, Sunday November 25 12-4 PM

We will have two authors this weekend signing copies of their most recent books.

On Saturday and Sunday, Ken Lang will be at our tasting room signing copies of his book Walking Among The Dead. A former homicide detective, Ken writes about the craft of how an investigator solves difficult crimes. You can learn more about him here.

On Sunday, we are glad to have Regina McCarthy sign copies of her book Maryland Wine: A Full Bodied History. This recent work provides a history of wine in Maryland, and we can't help at hint that TSW even made the pages! You can learn more about her book here.
