Spring is here and it's an exciting time for Green Needham. Read below for a recap of a well-attended solar program recently hosted by Green Needham, an update on solar deliberations in the legislature, upcoming events in our community, and some news regarding the Mass Save program.  
Needham Talks About Solar
 
There was a lot to say about solar at Green Needham's "Let's Talk About Solar" program on March 15th.  Almost 50 people came to Broadmeadow School and learned about the new solar project at the RTS, as well as other solar efforts in town.

After years of discussion and planning, the solar arrays at the RTS went live on March 8th.  Read more... 
Mass Save Home Energy Assessments: Next Step Living Has Shut Down, But Other Contractors Are Not Affected
   
For those Needham residents who have had a no-cost Mass Save home energy assessment, contractor Next Step Living is a familiar name.  Recently, however, Next Step Living unexpectedly announced that it has ceased business operations as of March 18, 2016.

Mass Save has set up a toll-free number for Next Step Living customers to answer questions and address concerns. Next Step Living customers should call 1-877-315-1941 for assistance in completing a home energy assessment or weatherization work.

House Members Support Solar
   
Thank you, Denise! Green Needham is pleased to see that Representative Denise Garlick was among those House members who signed a crucial letter in support of the Massachusetts solar industry.

Initiated by Representatives Cory Atkins and James O'Day, the letter was signed by 101 representatives - nearly 2/3 of the House members. The strong statement of support for the solar industry was addressed to the three House members who sit on the House-Senate committee that has been trying for months to work out a compromise on solar energy legislation.   Read more ...
