Dear  ,

Needham Chosen for Solarize Massachusetts Program

Green Needham is thrilled to announce that Needham has been  selected to participate in the second round of the 2013 Solarize Massachusetts program.  Bringing Solarize to Needham is the third solar team project to achieve a major milestone in 2013, along with Solar 101 and the RTS Solar project.

Solarize Mass is a community-focused, grassroots solar energy marketing, education and group-buying program. It is designed to increase the adoption of solar PV across the state and reduce the overall cost of solar power by offering residents and businesses discounted pricing for solar systems. Residents in participating communities are offered a tiered pricing structure, where the savings increase as more residents sign contracts to install solar.

Green Needham Chair Michael Greis, Solar Coach Artie Crocker and Municipal Representative Tatiana Swanson traveled to Amherst on Monday, December 2nd for the formal announcement.

The rollout of Solarize in Needham will begin in early 2014. Visit www.solarizeneedham.org for more information and updates as the program gets underway.

We want to thank everyone receiving our newsletter for your interest, support and engagement in 2013.  We're looking forward to an exciting 2014 as we work together to make Needham an even better and more sustainable place to live!

Sincerely,

Michael Greis
