Georgia's International Representatives Visit Dalton

Last Thursday, March 10th, the Dalton-Whitfield County Joint Development Authority and local guests hosted Georgia's International Representatives for dinner at The Farm.  
 
 Georgia's International team represents the state all around the world promoting Georgia's pro-business climate.  There were 17 International Representatives on-hand representing: Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and Mexico.   
 
 Also in attendance were select members of  the Georgia Department of Economic Development Staff, including Deputy Commissioner  of International Affairs, Ember Bishop  and Commissioner of Economic Development, Chris Carr.

Georgia Small Business Week 
 
 
In honor of Georgia's Small Business Week February 15-19, the Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority partnered with the Greater Dalton Chamber to host the Second Annual Small Business Mixer at Salon 41 in Rocky Face!  In addition to bringing some business resources like the SBDC and the #OnTheMap project experts, there were also some cool door prizes including a Yeti Tumbler and much more!  
 
 It is always a fabulous time celebrating Georgia's small businesses which make up 98% of the state's businesses.  We appreciate everyone who came out to support Georgia's Small Business Week this year!      You can read more about this years Small Business Week in this month's edition of Chamberlink magazine.

Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton Plans Cancer Center 
 
 
   In what it calls "one of the most significant initiatives in its 95-year history," Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga., announced plans to build a $30 million community cancer institute. 
  
The institute will be built in a three-story, 37,800-square-foot new building on the south side of Memorial Drive across from the main hospital entrance and will offer patients collaborative oncology "in a healing, patient-centered environment," the hospital said in an announcement of the project.
