MACON (October 29, 2013) - Today the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA), one of the leading organizations for economic development professionals in the U.S., presented Engineered Floors, Dalton-Whitfield County Joint Development Authority & Murray County Office of Community and Economic Development with the 2013 Deal of the Year Award in the Regional category. Gov. Nathan Deal was on hand to recognize company and community representatives at GEDA's Annual Awards Ceremony, this year held at the Macon Marriott City Center.

Between Whitfield and Murray Counties, Engineered Floors has committed to create a minimum of 2,400 new manufacturing jobs within a five-year period. "With thousands of individuals who have lost their jobs in recent years in this region, many due to the downsizing or rightsizing of the floor covering industry, this project is a major victory," said Mike Pennington, president of GEDA.
