Engineered Floors Expands in Dalton
1,200 new jobs and $350 million investment for Whitfield County

 

Carpet maker Engineered Floors LLC will spend $450 million over five years to build new facilities in Whitfield and Murray counties. Paperwork was signed by the Joint Development Authority board in late July completing the expansion deal.

 

Approximately $350 million will be invested in the new operation along with the creation of 1,200 jobs in south Whitfield County along Interstate 75. Another plant will be built in Murray County.

 

The company makes stain-resistant and colorfast PureColor next-generation solution dyed polyester fiber with SoilShielf for residential replacement and multifamily housing carpeting.

Tuesday, 9/24: General Industry Safety and Health Seminar (9am-4pm)

 

Wednesday, 9/25: Introduction to Machinery and Machine Safeguarding (9am-4pm)

 

Wednesday 9/25:   OSHA Compliance for Temp Agencies and Host Employers (9a-4p @ GTRI). This seminar would be relevant to any company that utilizes temporary workers.  There are often a lot of misunderstandings with regard to OSHA's host employer requirements.

 

Thursday, 9/26: Construction Safety and Health Seminar (9am-4pm)

 

Friday, 9/27: Introduction to Emergency Planning (~8:30a-12:30p)

 

Friday, 9/27Ergonomics and the Control of Musculoskeletal Disorders (~1p-5p)
