Nominations are Open for Small Business Person of the Year
Deadline is Friday, August 30
Each year, at the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet, a local business member is honored as the Small Business Person of the Year. This award is made in recognition of the outstanding contributions by an entrepreneur in our community. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, August 30 and the winner will be awarded at the Annual Banquet later this year. The nomination form can be accessed in August's ChamberLink magazine or online at: www.daltonchamber.org. Last year's recipient of this award was Kasey Carpenter of Oakwood Café/The Sweet Spot. The Small Business Person of the Year Award recognizes a business leader who owns and operates a for-profit company that employs 50 or fewer full-time employees, bears principal responsibility for operations, who has experienced recent business growth, and who is involved in the development and growth of the Greater Dalton community. Business University: Supervisory Academy Importance of Trust & Mutual Respect
Integrity and credibility with employees, peers, managers, and customers begins with respect, cooperation, and trust within the organization. This module examines the wisdom of setting a good example as a leader, and the role that respect and trust plays in being a successful leader.
Learning Outcomes:
Examine what is involved in "setting a good example."
Discuss the role that trust and respect play in employee engagement. Define the importance of mutual trust and respect as a fundamental components of a high performing work place.
Introduce the characteristics of a high performance work place.
