The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center is providing a start-up business series on Tuesdays in August. This 4-week series is perfect for an aspiring entrepreneur looking to start a business the right way.

Federal Government Small Business Training Workshop

Workshop for business interested in pursuing the federal marketplace

The All About Small Business Certifications workshop will provide small business owners with an overview of the major public and private sector certifications. Included are an overview of the popular SBA 8(a) Business Development Program, Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) and the Women-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses Federal Contract Programs. Since this is an overview, newly started and long-term existing small business owners are encouraged to attend.

Business University: Supervisory Academy Importance of Trust & Mutual Respect

Integrity and credibility with employees, peers, managers, and customers begins with respect, cooperation, and trust within the organization. This module examines the wisdom of setting a good example as a leader, and the role that respect and trust plays in being a successful leader.


Learning Outcomes:

Examine what is involved in "setting a good example."

Discuss the role that trust and respect play in employee engagement.  Define the importance of mutual trust and respect as a fundamental components of a high performing work place.

Introduce the characteristics of a high performance work place.
