 Happy New Year!
As we begin 2014, the UPAF staff, Campaign Co-Chairs and volunteers have already spent months planning and coordinating this year's campaign. The 2014 Campaign Kickoff is less than seven weeks away, and we could not be more excited about the future of Next Generation UPAF, sponsored by Wisconsin Energy Foundation.
We have seen membership grow for the fifth consecutive year and have held events in partnership with UPAF Member Groups such as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Skylight Music Theatre, First Stage, Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Florentine Opera. We have also launched a successful Executive Leadership Series featuring area CEOs from We Energies, Badger Meter and Robert W. Baird, to name a few. Over the coming months, you will be invited to the world premiere of Mirror Mirror (May 15) performed by the Milwaukee Ballet and Temptation's Snare (March 6), a collaborative production between Danceworks and Present Music.
While we are delighted to be able to provide all of our members with great opportunities to support the UPAF Member Groups, we are looking for individuals to assist our Recruitment and Engagement Committees. The Recruitment Committee works in tandem with UPAF staff in developing recruitment ideas for Workplace Giving Campaigns, and the Engagement Committee is involved with creating events for our membership. Season Sampler: Temptation's Snare
 Danceworks joins Present Music in a collaboration of "new" new music inspired by "old" new music with an evening-length premiere featuring the music of Igor Stravinsky's timeless Soldier's Tale interspersed with new music by the "Sleeping Giant composers collective" on March 6-9 at Next Act Theatre. Together, Danceworks and Present Music will reimagine and reinvigorate the classic tale with a contemporary twist, with narration by special guest Jason Powell and new choreography by Dani Kuepper.
Next Generation UPAF members can attend the Thursday, March 6, performance at 7:30 p.m. and save $5 by using the code "NEXTGEN" during their purchase.
Those who purchase tickets will also receive a 20% discount for Present Music's "Home Place" on June 21 and a buy one get one free ticket offer for Danceworks' "Plugged In," April 24-26 & May 8-10. Next Act Theatre

Next Gen Night for Opera Virgins 101
 Skylight Music Theatre's Artistic Director, Viswa Subbaraman, is bringing opera to the people this season. Held at Hotel Foster the first Thursday of every month, Opera 101 events are part lesson, part live performance, and all parts exciting, dynamic and totally unexpected. Whether you're new to opera or an aficionado, get ready for Viswa to give you a lesson you'll never forget. Thursday, February 6, is "Next Gen Night" for the event! Join other Next Gen members for a fun and informative night as we explore Opera with Viswa!
