From 1992 until 2000, he held various financial positions, including chief financial officer with Applied Power, Inc., Actuant's predecessor. Arzbaecher serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Milwaukee School of Engineering and the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business and First Stage Theater.
Therese Burkhart recently retired from Northwestern Mutual as director of information systems. Burkhart served as a UPAF Loaned Executive in 2012, where she learned firsthand the key ingredients to running a successful campaign. She also serves on the investment committee of the Woman's Club of Wisconsin.

He was recognized nationally in 2005 with the Americans for the Arts' Michael Newton Award, given to those who exemplify innovation in developing private sector partnerships for the arts. UPAF Participates in Giving Tuesday
"Giving Tuesday" is a modern movement, much like "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday," but focused towards giving back to the community. As shoppers fill their shopping carts in person or online, it's important to also keep in mind that Thanksgiving begins the season of sharing. Giving Tuesday is a one-day national campaign that thousands of nonprofits take part in. UPAF is proud to participate this year on Tuesday, December 3.
Stay tuned for updates this month, and follow our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Purse Strings Handbag Auction Benefits UPAF

G ucci, Prada and Valentino were the stars of the show in a high fashion handbag auction to benefit UPAF. The event, sponsored by PNC Bank, presented an opportunity for women leaders in Milwaukee to travel to Saks Fifth Avenue in downtown Chicago for the auction and a private shopping experience.
We would like to give a round of applause to PNC, Michael Best & Friedrich, and all of the other sponsors for making the event possible. A special thanks goes to Saks Fifth Avenue for contributing 10% of all in-store purchases made by event attendees during the private shopping time.

Sponsor Spotlight: Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls is a proud sponsor of UPAF, becoming only the second company to surpass $1 million in annual contribution. Through corporate gifts, a generous Workplace Giving Campaign and sponsorship of the UPAF Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite, Johnson Controls actively shows its commitment to UPAF and the performing arts in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Johnson Controls Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Community Affairs, Chuck Harvey, served as a 2013 Campaign Co-Chair. We're so thankful for Chuck's dedication and hard work, resulting in our record-breaking $11 million campaign.
Johnson Controls also helped make possible more than a dozen new incentives that drove both new and increased gifts for the 2013 Campaign. The generous support of Johnson Controls and its employees is a vital component of UPAF's success. Thank you, Johnson Controls!
