As we enjoy so many wonderful performances this fall delivered by our incredible UPAF Member Groups, it may behoove us to reflect on how we successfully raised a record-setting $11,005,419. UPAF is the single largest donor to each Member Group, so these dollars are needed to ensure high-quality music, dance and theater for all to enjoy.
While there were many variables that contributed to UPAF's success, the following had the greatest influence:
- Additional Campaign Co-Chair - Adding a third Co-Chair extended our reach and influence, particularly with major businesses and high-capacity donors and prospects.
- Cabinet Division Realignment - Restructuring Cabinet Divisions by sector made it significantly easier to prioritize and target opportunities.
- Vibrant Marketing Campaign - Developing a four-color logo and vibrant marketing campaign generated a great deal of enthusiasm around UPAF by infusing "new life" into the brand.
- Arts Education Grant Program - Developing and promoting this new program demonstrated UPAF's long-term commitment to arts education while also providing a powerful story.
- New Incentives - Offering more than a dozen incentives and three challenge grants tailored to reach different donor segments helped increase participation in the workplace and recruit new campaigns.
Other 2013 Campaign achievements include the expansion of our reach in Waukesha County through a targeted strategy; the establishment of new leadership giving levels; placing a greater emphasis on direct mail; and the continued growth of the UPAF Artist Society, UPAF Notable Women and Next Generation UPAF. The UPAF Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite, also experienced strong increases in both participation and pledging.
We will share more details and good news with you in our upcoming Annual Report, which will be available online by the end of the year. And, we look forward to building on this year's foundation as we plan for the 2014 Campaign!
Thank you for your continued support,
Deanna L. Tillisch
