Volunteer at the Ride!
|
Each year, our volunteers play an instrumental role in the continued success of the UPAF Ride for the Arts, sponsored by Miller Lite. We are incredibly grateful to the hundreds of volunteers that make the Ride possible. Whether it's serving as route support, assisting riders at the Bike Port or providing assistance at the start line or Finish Line Party, there's sure to be an opportunity that interests you.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, encourage employee unity and experience the thrill of the Ride without being on a bike. We offer numerous group opportunities allowing volunteers the comfort of working with friends, while still providing the chance to meet new people who are passionate about the arts and volunteering.
For information about the different opportunities and to sign up to volunteer, visit our website or contact Annie Hernandez at ahernandez@upaf.org or 414-239-6283 today!

Captain's Corner
|
We asked team captains of some of our largest teams what advice they would give first time captains. Here is what they said!
"If you are taking over for another "retiring" captain, get a mailer out to last year's team to let them know you are taking over and to encourage participation this year. Don't expect Ride advertising alone to get people to join the ride, it is really just a way of getting the word out. Getting people to sign up takes a personal "ask" in most cases to get someone new to join your team. If you're a extrovert, perfect. If you're not, become one :-)."
"The Ride is a great opportunity to build some team spirit by meeting colleagues who you may not normally interact with and you can have your family join. Start promoting the ride as early as possible, set a goal for riders and volunteers, and reach out to colleagues you would think would be interested."
Even if you are a returning team captain, that is great advice! Start early and invite people to be involved!
