The month of March brings a little bit of basketball, a few signs of spring, an hour more of daylight and... the UPAF Campaign Kickoff. If you haven't already, be sure to register for the 2013 Kickoff on Tuesday, March 12 at the Pabst Theatre. At the Kickoff our three Co-Chairs - Gail Lione, Chuck Harvey and Skip Poliner - will share highlights of and new developments for 2013 and, of course, announce this year's campaign goal. For the first time ever, UPAF Cornerstone Member Groups groups will come together for a special performance created by the six Artistic Directors. This is an event you will not want to miss! You can register by visiting the event page or calling 414-273-UPAF (8723). Member Spotlight: Florentine Opera
Albert Herring
On the centennial of Britten's birth, the Florentine Opera presents this 20th century comedic British masterpiece for the very first time. Endlessly witty, poignant, and beautifully layered, this comic opera highlights the misadventures of a lonely shop-boy in a small English village, that is teeming with colorful and wickedly amusing characters.
Abigail Nims (Nancy), mezzo soprano Kathryn Leemhuis (Florence Pike), and Andrew Wilkowske make their Florentine Opera debut, while tenor Rodell Rosel (Albert) and local favorite soprano Kathy Pyeatt (Lady Billows) return to the Florentine stage in a new production directed by William Florescu, conducted by Christopher Larkin and designed by Noele Stollmack.
