Congratulations Texas Teens!!!
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) just released the most recent numbers regarding Teen Birth Rates. Between the years 2007 and 2011:
Texas teen birth rates dropped a whopping 24%
White students by 19%
Black students by 26%
Hispanic students by 28%
The decline in teen births began in 1991, which directly correlates to the introduction of abstinence education. Today's report indicates a dramatic decline of at least 15% in all but two states from 2007-2011. The most dramatic drop was among Hispanic students and then Black students.
Birth rates in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennesee also significantly dropped.
